Your School Residential Questions, Answered
Hey folks! We get asked lots of questions about our school residentials, so to make things super easy for you, we’ve put this super handy video together. Alternatively, you can read the answers to our most frequently asked questions below.
How many people can your campsite accommodate?
Our campsite can accommodate groups of up to 80 people and is perfect for school residential trips for KS2-4 students and upwards, but do get in touch if your numbers are higher than this and we can see what we can do.
What can we expect when we first arrive?
When you arrive with us you can expect to be greeted at our reception by one of our friendly staff members who will help get you settled in. They’ll hand you your welcome pack and give you a tour of the site and its facilities, so you’ll be all set for the action-packed days ahead.
How many students can fit in one tent?
Your students will bed down in our 4x4 metre bell tents which can sleep up to 6 students per tent. We also have tents for teachers or staff members too, that sleep up to 2 people per tent. We’ve added a few extra luxuries to make your stay even more comfortable, including off the ground beds and bedding.
What accommodation options do you offer?
We offer a range of accommodation options including part or self-equipped pitches. For part equipped tents, we’ll provide you with the tent, and you’ll need to bring your own bedding. And for self-equipped camping, we’ll provide you with the pitch only, and you’ll need to bring everything else.
What facilities do you have on-site?
We have a number of other facilities available at our campsite, including purpose built toilets and showers, washing up facilities, a storage space with fridges and freezers, and electricity points for charging devices as well. It’s worth noting that our tents and pitches don’t have electric hookups next to the pitches. We also have a campfire that your group is welcome to take advantage of!
How do your catering services work?
When it comes to food, residentials can be catered for on a full, part or self-catering basis. Additional options are available for those with allergies, intolerances and other dietary requirements. Most special diets can be accommodated on medical or religious grounds, just let us know when you book. We have a large dining marquee where you can enjoy your meals together at the start and the end of the day, or we can have meals delivered to your activity site - it’s up to you.
How far away are your activity sites and can we hire transport?
If booking our campsite as part of a residential trip, it’s worth noting that our campsite is ideally situated just a 10-minute drive from any one of our activity sites, making inter-site transfers easy. You’ll also receive detailed directions to our campsite and activity sites when you book. All of our sites have good car and minibus access and provision for coach drop offs too. We also have our very own 16 seater minibus available which can be hired from us at an additional cost for site transfers.
Do you have any optional extras we can add on top?
We do! These include overnight staff, extra port-a-loo’s and outdoor games and sport equipment for your students to make use of during down time on the campsite. These are charged at an additional cost and we can work through these with you upon booking.
How does payment and cancellation work?
When it comes to payment, we require an initial ten percent deposit to secure your trip, and then the next forty per cent sixteen weeks before your activity date. The final fifty percent is then due two weeks before your visit when we’ll firm up final details with you before you make your final payment. In the event of a cancellation, we must receive this in writing no later than 8 weeks before your activity. Full payment will be still required for cancellations made with less than 4 weeks notice. If any cancellation brings the number in your group below the minimum number to qualify for a particular price, then the price will be adjusted accordingly.
You are more than welcome to come and see our campsite for yourself during a site tour with one of our team; we can arrange this with you upon enquiry. We can’t wait for you to join us for some camping in the wonderful New Forest! And obviously if you have any other questions, our friendly office team are always on hand to help; so get in touch.
Have we missed anything?
Get in touch with your question and a member of the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
