Our Dog-Friendly Guide to Beaulieu and Brockenhurst
02 August 2021
The New Forest is undoubtedly one of the most dog friendly places, but sometimes it can feel as if you’re venturing down the same walks and visiting the same pubs that you know will let your pooch in. That’s why we’ve created this handy guide to make your doggy days out a bit more exciting.
Buckler’s Hard Walk
This picturesque stroll is situated right beside the Beaulieu River, starting at the main street in Beaulieu village and passes through the course of the Solent Way. You’ll see many sights, such as Beaulieu Mill (a disused tide mill) created by the Beaulieu Abbey monks many years ago. The whole route is dog-friendly and there is an open stretch of greenery at Buckler’s where you and the pup can sit and picnic. You might even be able to spot our water activities taking place on the way!
Dogstival
Every year, there is a ‘Dogstival’ from the 5th to the 6th of June. Situated in Burley, It includes arena displays, have-a-go activities, food and drink and more. Heaven for a man’s best friend!
Canoe Ride
At New Forest Activities, you can take the whole family and your four-legged friend on a canoe ride across the stunning Beaulieu River. You and your pup will love spotting the different wildlife and exploring the river's rich history.
The Master Builders Dog-Friendly Dining
Situated at Bucklers Hard, this dog-friendly restaurant with garden views includes dishes such as steak and beef stew and sausage and mash delivered to your table so your canine friend can dine with you. They were even awarded ‘Dog Friendly Hotel of the Year’ 2021!
Lepe Country Park
Most areas of this country park are dog-friendly so your pup can adventure onto the beach or nature reserve. They have a handy website that you can look at pre-arrival to plan which routes to take.
Fairweathers Garden Centre & Steff's Kitchen
With locally sourced produce and freshly baked cakes, Steff's Kitchen is a lovely find for you and the pooch. After you've enjoyed a warm cappuccino, you can take a look around the colourful gardens and pick yourself up a treat in the gift shop.
